Allegiance

Effective Jan. 1, 2025, Allegiance will be ECU Health’s medical plan administrator and medical claims processor. More than 97% of current Tier 2 providers and specialists are in the Allegiance network, with approximately an additional 1,300 to be added as in-network providers with the change to Allegiance. Visit the ECU Health customized provider network directory website at askeallegiance.com/ecuhealth to determine if your current provider is in network.

With the move to Allegiance, prior authorization and processing of claims will change slightly. Approval/denial decision processes may differ for certain services and treatments (based on medical necessity as defined by Allegiance). Watch your mail for new medical plan cards prior to arrive by/around Jan. 1, 2025.

EyeMed

Effective Jan. 1, 2025, the ECU Health vision plan is slightly increasing premiums as well as the frame allowance to $200 for frames purchased through an EyeMed network provider. A listing of network providers can be found at eyemed.com or by calling EyeMed directly at 844‑409‑3401.

Wishbone Pet Insurance

At ECU Health, we recognize how important pets are to many of our team members and their families. Wishbone (a Pet Benefits Solution Pet Insurance plan) can help you manage the cost of caring for your pet(s).

Coverage includes up to 90% reimbursement after a $250 deductible (up to an annual maximum of $25,000) to visit any licensed vet. Additional discounts on pet care are also available upon enrollment.

This benefit will not be payroll deducted.

Voya

Get protection in case of injury with Voya Accident Insurance. This plan pays cash directly to you, and you can use it to help pay any out-of-pocket expenses related to the injury — at your discretion. Payments are tax-free.

Voya also offers Critical Illness Insurance to pay medical expenses not covered by your health plan. This benefit makes payments directly to you when you receive a specific diagnosis (see more information on the Voluntary Benefits page).

Hospital Indemnity Insurance with Voya supplements your medical coverage when you’re admitted to the hospital. You can use the benefit to pay any out-of-pocket expenses and extra bills. Benefits are paid directly to you, regardless of the treatment cost.

Receive a $75 wellness benefit per year for each Voya plan you enroll in. All you need to do is complete a routine wellness screening. Your insured spouse and children can earn $75 too.

Visit an ECU Health Facility and Receive More!

If you receive treatment at an ECU Health facility as part of our Accident Insurance and Hospital Indemnity coverage through Voya, you will receive a benefit pay out of 20% – 50% more than if you receive treatment at another facility. LifeLock

LifeLock helps provide you peace of mind with comprehensive identity theft protection. If a potential threat is detected, you’ll be notified via email, text, phone or mobile app alerts. Should you become a victim of identity theft, LifeLock provides a dedicated restoration specialist to help restore your identity.

ARAG

You can protect yourself with Legal Insurance offered through ARAG. This plan covers will preparation, traffic tickets, real estate property protection and more. Your ARAG legal plan also covers more complex legal issues such as divorce and trusts.

This coverage cannot be dropped mid-year.

UNUM Life

The UNUM whole life insurance policy provides you a fixed death benefit and locks premiums in at the age you purchase coverage. You can choose to add long-term care coverage to this plan as well, combining two important benefits into one affordable product.

Whole life insurance also builds cash value at a guaranteed rate of 4.5%. You can borrow from that amount, or you can buy a smaller, paid-up policy — with no additional premium due.

ECU HealthNow

Team members who are enrolled in an ECU Health medical plan have the additional benefit of ECU HealthNow. ECU HealthNow connects you with medical and behavioral health providers 24/7 by phone or online.

Telehealth and teletherapy appointments are a convenient, effective and affordable way to receive care from a licensed provider from wherever you’re located. An ECU HealthNow provider can help you navigate your health and wellness needs, and pursue solutions. Teletherapy can assist you with various issues including stress, anxiety, depression, marriage/family counseling, parenting and more.

This service is free if you’re enrolled in the Basic or Choice medical plans. You pay a $55 fee if you’re enrolled in the Medical Savings Plan, until you meet your deductible.

BenePlace

BenePlace is your place. You have access to 30,000+ national and local discounts in over 20 different categories ranging from electronics, home appliances, food and groceries, car buying, travel and fitness — to name a few.

BenePlace is ECU Health’s discount marketplace where you can access deals and limited-time offers on products, services and experiences you need and love. All team members are eligible for this benefit.
