Learn what’s new and what’s changing with the 2023 ECU Health benefit plans.
Voya
Injuries occurring off the job can be protected with Voya Accident Insurance. This plan is designed to pay cash directly to you, the team member. This additional cash support can be used to help pay any out-of-pocket expenses related to the injury. Payments are made tax free, to be used at your discretion.
In addition, Voya offers Critical Illness coverage. There can be many expenses associated with a critical illness, and a major medical plan may not cover them all. Critical Illness coverage with Voya pays cash directly to the team member upon a specific diagnosis (see more information on the Voluntary Benefits page).
Hospital Indemnity Insurance with Voya is designed to provide financial assistance for an event that results in a hospital confinement (stay), to supplement your current coverage. Team members can use the benefit to meet any out-of-pocket expenses and extra bills that can occur. Benefits are paid directly to you, regardless of the actual cost of treatment.
Visit an ECU Health Facility and Receive More!
If you receive treatment at an ECU Health facility as part of our Accident Insurance and Hospital Indemnity coverage through Voya, you will receive a benefit pay out of 20% – 50% more than if you receive treatment at another facility. See your 2023 Benefits Guide for more details.
ARAG
You can protect yourself with Legal Insurance offered through ARAG. This plan covers will preparation, traffic tickets, real estate property protection and more. Your ARAG legal plan also covers more complex legal issues such as divorce and trusts.
Lifelock
LifeLock helps provide you peace of mind with comprehensive identity theft protection. If a potential threat is detected, you will be notified via email, text, phone or mobile app alerts. Should you become a victim of identity theft, LifeLock provides a dedicated restoration specialist to help restore your identity.
EyeMed
The ECU Health Vision Care Plan, administered by EyeMed, is designed to encourage you to maintain your vision through regular exams and to help with expenses for prescription glasses and contact lenses. With this voluntary plan, you may use in or out-of-network providers, but the level of benefit is higher when you receive care from an in-network provider.
Cigna Dental
The ECU Health Dental Plan, administered by Cigna, gives you two plan options with different coverage levels– Basic and Choice. The Choice Plan covers 100% of preventive dental services and has orthodontia coverage. With either plan, you can visit any licensed dentist, but your cost is lower when you visit a dentist in the Cigna network.
WEX
The Health Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Savings Account (FSA) are both administered by WEX.
HSAs and FSAs help you save money on out-of-pocket expenses that you and your family incur during the calendar year. There are a number of different types of accounts that help to reduce your taxable income when paying for eligible expenses for yourself, your spouse and eligible dependents.
Note: You may only participate in the HSA and Limited Purpose FSA if you are enrolled in the Medical Savings Plan option.
